Say YES to Government Funded Alternatives to Healthcare Access
Randi Rhodes, Thom Hartmann and others have been encouraging their listeners, VIA Twitter, to use a form at the website of the evil FreedomWorks to deliver a message to elected representatives.
In the form, entitled "Say NO to Obamacare," listeners are urged to change NO to YES, and to delete the message, which is a twisted rant of lies and distortions against publically funded health care alternatives to corporate rape at the expense of sick and scared Americans.
I encourage, instead, to create a new message title and to write a firm, factual, and impassioned message that these elected representatives can not possibly misinterpret.
I have enclosed my own message here, and I encourage others to modify it or to write something similar:
Title: "Vote YES on Government Funded Health Care Options"
Message: "Grafted and extremist organizations heavily connected to Lobbyists and to the Insurance Industry, as well as to former Senator Dick Armey, have extremely deep pockets and have been dipping deep into tactics used by the German National Socialist Party in the 1920s to disrupt and subvert the Democratic Process.
The American people, on the other hand, have amply demonstrated in poll after poll that they want and need alternatives to the arbitrary and frequently unethical practices of this overstuffed industry.
Government investment into a viable alternative is NOT money ill-spent; rather it is a much needed investment in the present and future health of this country. The lies spread by opponents of health care reform have ranged from the delusional to the psychopathic, and in each case, it is the Insurance industry which has written the scripts, and has funneled them to extremists within the GOP, to heartless Blue Dog Democrats, to hatred dripping media freak shows like Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck, and to thug groups like Dick Armey's FreedomWorks.
These groups and individuals have the singular aim of making sure that nothing comes between the Insurance industry and the bloated profits to which it feels it is entitled, even at the expense of American lives.
Be clear and be resolute: this is economic terrorism, and this country loses more innocent men, women and children to it each year than we do to guns, bombs and missiles. Stand with the American people. Vow that the lies of the Insurance lobbyists will NOT cross your desk, and will NOT cross your lips.
Be ready to shout down outrageous claims of "Socialized Medicine" or "putting seniors out to pasture" or "Bureaucrats telling you who can receive care." This last and most ardent lie attempts to mask that the Insurance Companies bank on denying coverage to millions of Americans each year, using the sick fiction of "pre-existing conditions."
Right now, an actuary, a bean-counter, a pencil-pusher comes between a sick and scared American and the care of a doctor. This is immoral. It doesn't happen in Canada, in England, in France, or in any other country in which the government has taken steps to protect the health of its citizens. In these countries, no one has ever - EVER - gone bankrupt or lost their homes as the result of having to get a life-saving surgical procedure. Yet in this country it happens each and every day.
It's immoral, and it has to stop. Stand up to demented and shadowy groups doing the bidding of an overstuffed, out of control, and bloated Insurance industry. Do what the American people - the absolute majority of YOUR constituents - elected you to do. Stand WITH President Obama on viable and much-needed alternatives, including a publically funded option, and Single-Payer."
